FITRANA
Fitrana (Zakat al-Fitr) is a mandatory charity that every Muslim must give before Eid al-Fitr. It serves as a means of purification for those who fasted and ensures that the less fortunate can partake in the joy of Eid.

Why is Fitrana Important?
•  Purifies Your Fast: It cleanses any shortcomings in your fasting during Ramadan.
•  Ensures Inclusivity: It allows the poor to celebrate Eid with dignity.
•  Fulfills an Obligation: It is an essential duty upon every financially capable Muslim.

Who Must Pay Fitrana?
•  Every Muslim, whether male or female, adult or child, must pay Fitrana if they possess surplus wealth beyond their daily needs.
•  The head of a household can pay on behalf of dependents, including children.

How Much is Fitrana?
The required amount is equivalent to the cost of staple food such as wheat, barley, or dates. The current rate is determined annually based on local food prices.

When Should Fitrana Be Given?
•  Before Eid Salah: Fitrana must be distributed before the Eid prayer so that those in need can benefit in time for the celebrations.
•  Giving it Late: If given after the Eid prayer, it is considered ordinary charity (Sadaqah) rather than Fitrana.

Where Does Your Fitrana Go?
At Donate Directly, 100% of your Fitrana donation reaches those in need, providing food and essential supplies to impoverished families before Eid. We ensure your contribution makes an immediate impact on the lives of struggling individuals and communities.
